I had hoped to help you all with guidance on the new bin-collections, in the mistaken belief that they would continue uniformly across the whole of Snape on the same day, albeit it on Tuesdays, from 2nd June. However, after 'going back to the drawing board' and checking many addresses across the village, I discover that just a very few have a different timetable (including mine!), I guess because we are on narrow roads. The only impacts to the vast majority of people is that the new green-lidded black bins (for paper and card) are dropped into the cycle from 16th June, after which collections will follow a General/Recycling/Paper&card three-week cycle as the new norm. Once only, however, Garden-Waste bins will be collected on both Wednesday 27th May and Tuesday 2nd June, and then revert to the traditional fortnightly cycle. Not so complex after all! My humble apologies for the confusion.
However, if you have a green Garden-Waste bin still with its green lid,
you should leave it out on the 27th (even if empty) until its new brown lid has been fitted.
You can, of course, refer to the officially printed recycling calendar (and if relevant, the Garden-Waste calendar) mailed to you recently by East Suffolk Council and/or refer to the Bin Collection Dates Finder on their website and/or download their official easy-to-follow "East Suffolk" app for your phone. These will show the correct dates for your own particular address.
Kind regards, Steve
