Our 1925-to-2025 Celebrations were absolutely wonderful, highlighting the importance of Snape Village Hall.
The hall was decorated inside and out with bunting, and, thankfully, the weather was good enough to use the gazebos. We had an amazing amount of activities, such as the bottle tombola, face painting, Catch-A-Duck, free ice cream for the children and our bric-a-brac table. Thanks to the Plough & Sail for setting up the BBQ and bar — very welcome! It was wonderful to welcome a range of ages, especially children and their families, to enjoy the festivities.
The most important, and impressive, inclusion was a historical display of the Village Hall and the people, past and present, from the area. A huge thank-you to Brian Boulton for creating this amazing display! Tea, coffee, biscuits and cake were made available by David, Anita and Alison — thank you! An excellent 100th birthday cake, made by Sally Gillett, was also a big part of the afternoon. We welcomed over 130 people who enjoyed the atmosphere and the music, thanks to Strumming Birds [see their Facebook page].
Without our volunteers this event wouldn't have been possible, so thank you to everyone who helps and supports the hall. It was a wonderful way to celebrate an important asset to the village. May it continue for many, many more years to come.
You can view images from the day here.
Don't forget we hold the Coffee Mornings on the 2nd Thursday of each month,
10:00am to 11:30. Everyone is welcome.

Football Club party in the Village Hall in the 1950s

For 100 years Snape Village Hall has been serving the community.
If walls could talk they would speak of World War 2, the founding of the NHS,
three Coronations, 1966 World Cup, the development of the Maltings,
joining and then leaving the EU, the Falklands and of course Covid.
It has stood as a Bastion and a friend. It is only right that we should all come together
to celebrate its 100th birthday on Saturday July 26th, 2pm to 6pm.
You can download the flyer above by clicking upon it, perhaps to display in your window.
