The Lloyds Tour of Britain Men, the UK's biggest cycling race, is passing through Snape — and you may be affected by a road closure or rolling road closure. It is expected in SNAPE AROUND 12:30. Roads around the race route will be closed for the short period in which it takes the race to pass by — usually about 10 to 15 minutes around the estimated time of arrival, and indicated by police vehicles.
Locally, you can expect the riders to come through Wickham Market at 11:41; Tunstall Green Man at 11:50; Eyke at 12:00; Bromeswell at 12:10; Sudbourne Five Ways at 12:20; SNAPE AT 12:30; Aldeburgh at 12:39; Thorpeness at 12:45; Leiston at 12:53; Sax at 13:05; Framlingham at 13:21 and then on. [Most of these times are interpolated from the official figures to show the complex (potentially disruptive) route around our area, east of the A12. Closure of the B1069 through Snape itself will occur around 12:10 until 12:50, as in the extract below from the organisers' own predictions of road closure, first rider and reopening.]
Areas where parking is restricted are lined with yellow "no waiting" cones in the week leading up to the race. Please don't park on the route on race day. If necessary, vehicles may be removed.
