Snape Parish Council are delighted to announce the installation of a second defibrillator in the village. It is located adjacent to the Church, on the side of the outside toilet. We are very grateful to Curles for installing this defibrillator at no cost. For reference, the other defibrillator is located on the outside wall of the Snooker Club, next to the Village Hall.
Both of these are accessed by a code, that a 999 operator will issue if they feel that a defibrillator is necessary for the emergency, while waiting for paramedics to arrive. They are very easy to used as clear voice instructions are given.
Both defibrillators are checked frequently. However, if they are used, will you then please email maria-norman@sky.com who manages them on behalf of Snape Parish Council, as new pads will need to be purchased immediately.
Should you wish to know more now, further information, including an explanatory video, is available via a link on the homepage.

You may have noticed that the defibrillator was missing for some weeks, but it's now been returned, back in its casing outside the Village Hall, and is operational. It was borrowed by the ambulance service during a recent incident in The Glebes.
It may be operated by ANYONE, as it 'talks' one through the process of performing CPR resuscitation on someone suffering a suspected cardiac arrest. A short training session is under consideration, but in the meantime you can visit our «Defibrillator» webpage, with a link to an explanatory YouTube video.

The defibrillator that the village obtained has now been permanently installed on the outside wall of the Snooker Club / Village Hall. Should this be needed in an emergency, the instructions for access are printed on the casing and the machine will take you through the steps you need to take.
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it’s an essential life saving step in the chain of survival.
This valuable, potentially life saving, resource would not have been possible without the support of the Golden Key, Maria Norman and the Parish Council.
