Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our Sandlings Walk challenge. We're delighted to let you know that we have raised a total of £958 (plus over £200 in Gift Aid). All of the money donated to Jess Grant Celebration is spent on the purposes for which it is intended: providing funding for children and young people to receive music therapy at Ipswich Hospital, Zest at St. Elizabeth Hospice and Addenbrooke's Hospital. Thanks so much for your help, we couldn't do any of this without your support, Anita and Kevin

Very pleased to let you know that we all successfully completed the Sandlings Walk in four days, finishing at Southwold Pier yesterday. This beautiful 60-mile walk took us through commons, forests, heathlands, nature reserves and to the coastline, rivers and estuaries. With the exception of the towns and villages, we hardly saw anyone else, and felt like we had the path to ourselves. Apart from the rain on Thursday, the weather was ideal for walking, never getting too warm, and plenty of sunshine along the way.
Day 1, Wednesday: Rushmere Common, Ipswich to Upper Hollesley Common;
Day 2, Thursday: Upper Hollesley Common to Snape;
Day 3, Friday: Snape to Dunwich Beach;
Day 4, Saturday: Dunwich Beach to Southwold Pier
It was a fantastic experience to walk the path end-to-end, giving us a totally new perspective of the area that we live in. Highlights of the walk included: the many memories of Jess throughout the walk; the ubiquitous robins, many sitting on waymarkers; listening to a nightingale singing while we took a break on a bench in Westleton Heath; discovering new places to walk and explore in the future.
We're delighted to have exceeded our original fundraising target,
all of which will be used to fund music therapy.
Of course, we would be very grateful if our total was to increase.

In Jess' memory we are raising money for children and young people suffering from medical conditions. Inspired by our daughter Jess’ love of music, we aim to help hospitals and hospices in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire by supporting the provision of music therapy, through our very small charity Jess Grant Celebration.
Anita, Kevin and Jess' cockerpoo Maisy are walking the Sandlings Walk between Ipswich and Southwold over five consecutive days in May. This beautiful 59-mile trail is full of memories of Jess: starting near Ipswich Hospital, passing places like Jess' wonderful primary school, Cedarwood, and the two houses that Jess was brought up in in Aldringham and Kesgrave; taking in lovely memories of happy days spent in Woodbridge, Rendlesham Forest, Snape, Thorpeness, Dunwich, Walberswick and Southwold.
Please take a look at our JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/page/thegrants. We are grateful for any support you are able to give us. We have no expenses, so every penny of the money raised will be spent directly on the music therapy projects that we are supporting at Ipswich Hospital, Zest at St. Elizabeth Hospice and Addenbrooke's Hospital.
Thank you so much, x
Anita and Kevin Grant
