Another successful litter-pick was held around the village today, at which the normal mix of items, both expected and unusual were found. In earlier years, stashes of empty whisky bottles have been found secreted away, but this year's finds included a wire supermarket-basket, and the inevitable golf balls in various colours. The prize of a bottle of wine, however, went to Cath for an old shovel and a half-shaft, both very rusty. Georgina and David also received a bottle, for their kind, now-traditional hospitality at morning's end.

A further pick is planned after the greenery dies down in the Autumn,
when volunteer pickers will again be most welcome.
