It has been another exciting month for G.A.S. as we gathered for what has been an annual event — the G.A.S. Charity Quiz. The Quiz is run by the inimitable Maggie and Chris Scott and their team of helpers.
To say it was competitive would be true for some tables, to say it was fun was true for all tables. The room was packed with quizzers, and the Raffle was very generously supported, first by the prize givers — The Golden Key, Ladybird Nurseries, Friday Street Farm Shop, The Maltings and some private donations. It was then supported very generously by the Quizzers and the evening raised £638. This has been shared by the two charities – Motor Neurone Disease Association and, our Charity for the year, St Elizabeth Hospice.
We now look forward to our December 2nd Meeting at 7.30pm at Snape Village Hall which is an OPEN meeting. The guest speaker will be Luci Skinner, formerly of Woottens Nursery, who will talk about creating a successful herbaceous border. She will cover a range of issues including planting for seasonality, colour, form and structure. As well as a discussion on care and maintenance including pruning, cutting back, feeding etc. This talk also contains a section on sustainability in the garden and control of pests/weeds without chemicals. Come along, bring a friend and enjoy Luci’s presentation.
G.A.S. is making a slight change to meetings next year.
We will meet on the SECOND Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm
in Snape Village Hall.
