NOTES FOR APPLICANTS AS SGNS VOLUNTEERS
DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) checking is only required for Volunteers hoping to work on their own with Clients.
You will receive an email similar to this. It contains all the information (or links to it) that you will require.

The email continues by listing suitable documents, also available online in the latest version of
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/dbs-identity-checking-guidelines.
Once you have, as directed, changed your password and logged into the dbsatcas.employment website,
you will be directed to the following screen, the start of your Application Form —

You can choose which documents you will present, and then answer questions relevant to each.
If you reach the bottom of a page but there is no obvious continuation button,
a message in red higher up the screen will explain what requires correction or completion.
Once completed, you will be presented with a review of your answers, similar to the one below.

At the foot of the page, you complete a Declaration of the completeness and truth of what you've replied.
