Following the anticipated, but sudden, confirmation last Friday by Alex and Oli Burnside of the ending of their tenancy at The Golden Key next Sunday, 18th January, we at Meet Up Mondays (MUM) have had to make alternative temporary arrangements.
From next TUESDAY, 20th January, therefore, we will be meeting at Snape Village Hall, so will effectively become Meet Up Tuesdays! We will start slightly later — at 10:45 — than hitherto, and finishing some time after 12 noon. This was the unanimous decision of the 19 attendees at today's (suddenly) final meeting at the Key. Hopefully we can return to 'our roots' on Mondays there in the not too distant future but this, of course, depends on any incoming tenant — although we are happy to know that Adnams are keen to support local community links.
We would like to place on record our sincerest thank-you, not only to Alex and Oli but also to Eli and the Golden Key Crew, for their welcome and support over the last few years. We wish them all, too, success for the future, including at the Plough & Sail and Aldeburgh's Regatta Restaurant. Thank you, also, to Snape Village Hall (and especially Jackie) for welcoming us back at such short notice, just as they did for a couple of months some years back.
Of course, we're contacting all our regular and recent attendees if they weren't at the Key today, but please pass this news on to anyone you believe would be interested who might not see this blog. As ever, we welcome new attendees too, who can just turn up for free coffee, cake and chat at Meet Up Mondays — but at the Village Hall on Tuesday late-mornings just for now!
